Description
These kits all include Magpul grips and stocks, but what makes them unique is the barrels. You can choose from either pencil profile barrels or spiral fluted barrels. You can also choose between shorter 12″ handguards (saving an ounce or two and exposing more of the barrel) or the longer 14.5″ handguards (which cover more of the barrel and give you more flexibility for mounting accessories).
The lightweight pencil profile barrels have mid-length gas systems for softer shooting. These thin-profile barrels make the gun easier to carry, but tend to get hotter and wander sooner than the heavier weight barrels. They are the best choice for a gun that will get carried a lot but won’t see large volumes of fire at one time. You can also pair these barrels with a polymer lower for the ultimate light weight rifle. Mention this in the notes at checkout if this is what you want to do.
The heavier stainless steel barrels have carbine length gas systems for enhanced reliability, even when shooting lower quality ammunition. They have spiral fluting, which not only enhances their appearance, but also reduces their weight and allows them to cool faster.
All of these barrels are chambered in .223 Wylde, which enhances your accuracy whether you are shooting 5.56 or .223 ammo. I will go over this in more detail during the class.
Kit includes complete gun (to be assembled in class) minus the lower, flip up sights, one 30 round magazine, and 10 rounds of ammunition. You will be able to leave this class, go directly to the range, and sight in your new AR-15!
In addition to this kit, you will need to come to my house prior to the class to purchase the lower receiver for $125 plus tax and do the background check. Providing your own lower is not an option for this class.
