This 12.5-hour class at the Sitka Sportsman’s Association qualifies you to apply for an Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit. Topics include lawful use of force, firearms safety, proper storage and carry, firearm and ammunition selection, shooting technique, and supervised range practice.

Description

Schedule: Classroom instruction is Saturday, November 14, from 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The indoor range session is Sunday, November 15, from 12:30–4:30 p.m.

Firearms are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis. Early-bird pricing ends at 11:59 p.m. Alaska time on November 6. The class price includes fingerprints, digital photographs, and free use of electronic hearing protection on the range.

You will need 100 rounds of practice ammunition for your handgun. You may purchase ammunition locally (we recommend Orion Sporting Goods) or add it to your registration and I will bring it for you. You will receive a confirmation email after registering; follow the link in that email for preparation and equipment details.
